The Perioperative Educator, under the direction of the Director is responsible for coordinating the orientation, training and education of all Perioperative Services team members. The Educator assists with staff development and monitors the perioperative environment to ensure safe patient care. The Perioperative Educator:
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
Associate's Degree
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Florida Registered Nurse License
BLS
ACLS
CNOR, within 12 months
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required
Minimum of 2 years in Perioperative clinical setting; Management experience preferred
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
The ideal candidate must be proficient with software applications, organized, and possess the skillset to build and maintain spreadsheets.

- Proactively assesses needs of each unit and checks competency on team members
- Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory and Joint Commission requirements and works with staff to assure compliance with all standards
- Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, and educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members.
- Completes other duties as requested/assigned.
