Overview
UF Health Central Florida Medical Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physician Assistant to serve as Lead Physician Assistant. The Lead PA will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, supporting the clinical team, and contributing to the efficient operation of the medical group practices. This position requires a blend of advanced clinical skills, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to quality and patient safety within the UF Health system. The Lead PA will work collaboratively with physicians, other advanced practice providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including conducting comprehensive histories and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, and developing treatment plans under the supervision of a collaborating physician.
- Perform medical procedures within the scope of practice and as credentialed.
- Serve as a clinical leader and resource for other Physician Assistants and clinical staff.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new Physician Assistants and clinical staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help develop clinical protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with physicians and practice managers to optimize clinical workflows and improve patient access and satisfaction.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced PAs.
- Assist in resolving clinical issues and patient concerns.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHRs).
- Stay current with medical knowledge and best practices through continuing education.
- Participate in medical staff meetings and contribute to the overall goals of UF Health Central Florida Medical Group.
- May assist with scheduling and coverage coordination for the PA team.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the State of Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (as required by specialty).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a practicing Physician Assistant.
- Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, or mentorship role preferred.
