Job Opening Summary
Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations, enabling physicians, nurses, technicians and therapists to perform their duties in an effective manner. Ensures positive patient customer satisfaction; proper utilization of body mechanics; and adherence to policies, procedures and standards established by Shands and the departmental management. Transports patients in wheelchairs, beds, stretchers or wagons to patient care areas, ancillary areas and various outpatient clinics, as well as for discharge from the hospital.
Job Opening Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prefer certified nursing assistant or patient contact experience.
- Current enrollment in a health-related educational program desirable.
- Exhibits ability to follow oral as well as written instructions and to recognize medical emergencies.
Shift hours: Variable
Salary : $15 - $17
