What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiovascular Tech | Electrophysiology Lab | Day Shift position at UF Health?
Overview
There are three cath labs at UF Health’s Leesburg Hospital and 1 Electrophysiology Lab. A CVT who is passionate about elevating their clinical skillset will truly value their professional experience they will acquire while working, as there are a lot of complex interventional cases and structural heart cases. The Providers are excited about the field and love to share their knowledge with their staff. This is a close-knit Cath Lab where collaboration and teamwork is celebrated with state-of-art Cath Lab technology and medical devices. The Director is a servant-leader with 30 years of UF Health Leesburg experience and is dedicated to the success of her team and the people of her community.
The EP Lab CVT, under the direction the of the director/charge person, monitors procedures, assist physician in a scrub-assistant role, and circulates to include all diagnostic EP and cardiac ablations procedures, device implants and explants, cardiac cath procedures to ensures safe patient care. This is a Full Time, Day Shift position eligible for a sign on bonus for external candidates.
Qualifications
Education:
Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire if no degree in the applicable fields)

Qualifications
Education:
- Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy
- In Lieu of education requirements, a minimum of five (5) years experience
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire)
- Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire) Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- FL Certified Radiologic Technologist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred)
- FL Registered Respiratory Therapist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred)
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification
Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire if no degree in the applicable fields)
- BLS
- ACLS
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in Cardiac Cath lab or EP lab
- For less than 1 year EP experience, must have graduated from an accredited academic program with a dedicated EP curriculum and successful completion of EP clinical rotations
- Must have a strong knowledge base in Electrocardiograms, rhythm analysis, sterile technique, cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and radiation protection
