The Certified Sterile Processing Technician, under the direction of the unit charge nurse, collects, cleans, disinfects, inspects and sterilizes surgical instruments and other medical equipment. Maintains code carts, chest carts, urology carts. Cleans hospital wide equipment as needed. This is a Full Time, Day Shift position.
Schedule: 11 AM TO 7:30 PM Mon-Fri
On-call required on weekends on a rotation with SPD team
Qualifications:Education
High School Diploma/GED
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Certification in either central service or surgery technology preferred.
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required
Completion of formal central service technician or surgery technologist program desired, Previous central service, surgery, or patient care work experience is desirable.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
