Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Director/Manager/ Charge Nurse/ and RNs, the Ortho Lead Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is responsible for providing an aseptic environment within the perioperative arena. Surgical conscience is of the utmost importance. Must be well versed in the basics of routine surgical, diagnostic and orthopedic cases. The CST Ortho Lead is responsible for training of new ortho staff on ortho instrumentation, equipment, routines and surgeons' preferences.
Qualifications:Education:
- Post High School
Special Training Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Surgical Technology Certification required or LPN license
- BLS
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Minimum 5 years of orthopedic experience with major emphasis on total joint replacements
