Job Summary:
The UF Health ED Technician is responsible for providing clinical support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Functions under medical direction of the Medical Director and direct supervision of the ED attending physician, with general management by the RN. Provides care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies.
- Collects pertinent data within their certification scope of practice and reports all clinical and psychosocial findings to the RN and ED Attending.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as EMT-Paramedic in the State of Florida required. Specialty certifications required upon hire: BLS; ACLS. One year Paramedic experience required. Demonstrated clinical skills in pre-hospital and critical care transport preferred. High School Diploma or GED, graduate from an approved Paramedic Program.
