Days of Week : MONDAY-FRIDAY
- Weekend on-call rotation following 6-month probation period
Performs all processes to prepare tissues and body fluids for diagnostic evaluation. This may include routine embedding, microtomy, staining, routine laboratory equipment maintenance, special staining techniques, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme histochemistry. Must ensure all regulations are met and all productivity and quality standards are met or surpassed. Performs gross examination of small biopsy specimens at the direction of the Medical Director and under supervision by the Pathologist Assistants, Medical Director or designee. Performs all processes to prepare tissues for diagnostic evaluation including accessioning, appropriate labeling of requisitions and specimen containers, printing cassettes, fixation, preparing packing list for transportation to the histology laboratory, and subsequent discarding of surgical specimens. Performs frozen microtomy with slide and touch preparations at the time of intraoperative consultation. Provides coverage in the Histology laboratory as needed. Performs routine embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, and special staining. Ensures all regulations, productivity, and quality standards are met or surpassed.

Licensure / Certification / Registration : HTL (ASCP)
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation : Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
