The infection prevention specialist provides an effective hospital wide program for the surveillance, prevention and control of infection. Assumes the role of leader in planning, directing and managing the Infection Control program to ensure quality service on a 24-hour basis. Meets Joint Commission standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, promotes teamwork with physicians and all health-care providers, promotes internal and external customer satisfaction, and appropriately manages resources.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- Associate's Degree
- Florida Registered Nurse License or Baccalaureate degree in public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Training: Training in computer operation with ability to abstract from clinical data and provide analysis reports
- Special Skills/Qualifications: CIC preferred
- Experience: Hospital Nursing, OR preferred, 3-5 years
