Overview: In coordination with the Data Management Analyst, collects and documents key BMT data elements from the EMR and outside facilities. Completes and submits reporting forms containing these data elements to CIBMTR (Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research). Enters accurate patient data into BMT database. Participates in auditing and validation related to collected and submitted BMT data. Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school graduate with two years experience in a medical setting and knowledge of medical terminology OR
- Four-year degree and previous employment in a medical setting.
- Functional knowledge/experience with computer applications including online medical records, MS Word, Excel, and Access.
- Ability to work in an organized manner, problem solving, and to handle multiple tasks.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Requires minimum supervision and be able to exercise sound independent judgment.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and/or within a team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to work with a diverse group of individual personalities.
- Demonstrates sound judgement in an environment where access to and control of confidential information is a significant issue.
- Works independently and for extended periods at a computer.
