Overview
Plan, coordinate, and direct the quality operations of the clinical laboratory to ensure accurate, quality-driven services are provided to assist clinicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Assist the Administrative Director in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures. Oversee the implementation of, and compliance with hospital policies and procedures, College of American Pathologist Laboratory Accreditation Standards, the Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements as defined by the State of Florida and the Federal Government. Works closely with other hospital quality groups to coordinate interdisciplinary interactions necessary for the development of total quality management initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field. Preferred Education: Master's Degree. Necessary Skills: 1. Strong knowledge of Laboratory related regulatory requirements. 2. Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with department and hospital staff. 3. Thorough knowledge of Quality Management and Performance Improvement principles and tools. 4. Strong organizational and analytical skills. 5. Thorough knowledge and use of appropriate computer applications to perform duties efficiently. 6. Ability to meet changing conditions and utilize critical thinking skills to analyze and interpret data. Required Licensure/Certifications: Current Florida license for Clinical Laboratory Technologist -OR- Clinical Laboratory Supervisor. Required Experience: Over 5 years Laboratory Management. Preferred Experience: Over ten (10) years of Laboratory Management/Supervisory experience. Supervision: Supervisory responsibility: Yes Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: N/A
