Overview
Registered Nurse will possess specialized knowledge and skills to provide patient-centric care to patients in a physician�s office setting. Will provide clinical nursing assessment, act as patient care advocate, provide support, counseling and education to patients. Will be responsible for patient case management and/or perform specialized procedures. Will work in collaboration with other health care providers and ancillary services. Will direct clinical staff and maintain mandatory regulatory institutional policy and procedures under the direction of the Manager/Medical Director. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing. The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for identifying the patient's alterations in health, assessing the patient's human response to actual and potential health problems, implementing nursing interventions based on theoretical concepts from nursing and other arts and sciences and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Whenever possible, the patient, the family or those significant to the patient are an integral part of the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts of the Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse is responsible to supervise/direct care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel. The Registered Nurse is responsible to assign/delegate care to other qualified members of the health care team. The RN coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed. Unit-based activities which contribute to a positive work and professional environment are performed. The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates care to achieve the organization�s mission of excellent patient care and nursing�s vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. One year of specialty experience or two years of ambulatory care or hospital based experience \ preferred. Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. Certification in area of specialty preferred. Proven ability to multitask, problem solve, and be a team player is essential. Outstanding patient/customer service skills, verbal clarity, exceptional cognitive abilities, team focus, and problem solving skills are required for the ideal candidate. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. Basic Life Support and ACLS certification required or obtained within the first month of employment. BLS and ACLS certification must be obtained through AHA or Red Cross.
