Overview
Ensures the coordination and continuity of patient care for Transplant patients by assisting the Transplant coordinators in performing hospital services for patients. Provide clinical information to patients, referring doctors, labs and insurance carriers. Assist with outside lab documentation in patient's charts and reporting abnormal results to appropriate coordinator. Assist in program data collection and production of monthly departmental reports. Maintain program statistics by utilizing database system(s) and maintaining all associated records. Coordinates departmental quality assurance projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Position requires high school graduate with two to five years of progressively responsible secretarial/administrative experience. Must have working knowledge of computer applications including but not limited to word processing and spreadsheet development. Prefer individual with demonstrated knowledge of Access, Word, and Excel. This position requires a person with initiative and the ability to take on responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to problem solve is essential. Must be organized and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Must require minimum supervision and be able to exercise sound independent judgement. Must be able to work independently and/or within a team-oriented environment, using appropriate CQI tools. Must be able to work with a diverse group of individual personalities. Must be able to work in an environment where access to and control of confidential information is significant issue. Must be able to work independently and for extended periods at a computer. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): (Refer to CP 1.51): Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
