The Role and What You’ll Do:
The Venue Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Venue Operations with the overall operational success of UFC events. They will be a liaison between UFC operations and production teams and the venue operations management and ensure that all internal needs are met in compliance with venue safety regulations and operating standards.
- Collaborates with Operations Department and vendors to coordinate the arrival of operational and production facilities and equipment for load in and load out of venues.
- Supervises the setting and striking of all staging aspects of events including rigging, PA sound system, lighting, projection, Octagon, bleachers, chairs and tables.
- Manages all aspects of stagehand crews for setup and striking events.
- Oversees the loading dock operations.
- Fosters relationships between technical and operations staff to ensure efficient load in, setup and execution of event and broadcast productions.
- Ensures all back of house room needs for various departments are met including fighter locker rooms, production and operations offices, VIP suites and media work areas.
- Proactively works with internal department leads in advance of events in obtaining their event logistical needs in timely manner.
- Ensures that all event related contractual requirements are met per venue contract and event rider.
- Serves as back-of-house management representative.
- Conducts regular quality control walkthroughs of the venue and ensure that policies and procedures are followed and the venue’s property is not damaged.
- Assists with internal and venue security departments to ensure all production operations are in compliance with venue regulations and operating standards for the safety of fighters, their camps, all staff, vendors and freelance crews, event attendees and VIP guests.
You Have These:
- High school diploma required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 years of event-related work experience, including supervisory or management experience
- Knowledge and previous live event work experience in venues and/or facilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Work well under pressure, including tight deadlines
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
- Great attention to detail
- Knowledge of safety practices and all applicable safety standards for public facilities
- Ability to work irregular hours such as evening, weekends, and/or holidays
