Job Summary

The Facilities Security Specialist performs and coordinates the maintenance and repair of security systems, ensuring prompt attention to service requests to support UFCU members, employees, departments, and branches. This role promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with the Facilities team.

The Facilities Security Specialist reports to the Manager - Facilities.

Essential Functions

Security System Management

  • Assists the Sr. Facilities Specialist in the installation, updating, and maintenance of access control, video surveillance, fire alarms, and building alarm systems at UFCU locations.
  • Conducts video surveillance research as requested.
  • Assists with ATM lighting, security, and video integration.
  • Responds to branch security audit issues.
  • Responds to after-hours calls to help with security and alarm issues.

 

 

 

Compliance and Policy Adherence

  • Ensures compliance with UFCU's corporate security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to support the physical security of all UFCU facilities, property, employees, and members.
  • Partners with Information Security Officer, Compliance Officer, Assurance Services, and Facilities Manager to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.

 

Incident Management and Prevention

  • Addresses security-related incidents with members and employees.
  • Stays current with robbery prevention and mitigation processes.
  • Assists with Operational Emergency Action and Disaster Recovery Planning when necessary.

 

Collaboration and Vendor Management

  • Collaborates with managers and IT to audit 911 testing for all facilities.
  • Works directly with security-related, fire, and electrical vendors.
  • Assists Sr. Facilities Security Specialist with all security design, planning, and implementation during new facility construction and renovation.
  • Partners with Facilities on all security-related issues and service requests as needed.
  • Assists Sr. Facilities Specialist to review vendor performance annually.
  • Coordinates with shred vendor on Plaza and branch shred service.

 

Service Management

  • Creates and manages ServiceNow requests to track and record notes on services provided to UFCU staff.
  • Ensures transparency and improves service delivery within the organization by recording details, tracking progress, and keeping accessible records of all service interactions.
  • Oversees the monthly lighting report, changes lightbulbs, and schedules interior and exterior lighting repairs as needed.
  • Maintains relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and other governmental agencies.
  • Aids other Facilities team members as needed with Event Center set ups and building related maintenance issues.

 

Other

  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Completes required regulatory training as assigned.
  • Maintains strict adherence and compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, and Fair Lending regulations.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge

  • Proficiency in maintaining video surveillance systems, fire alarms, and building security systems.
  • Proven knowledge of physical security management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of interior and exterior lighting systems and controls.
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations regarding physical security.
  • Basic understanding of high and low voltage electrical systems.

  • Capable of learning and using UFCU security software programs for access control, video surveillance, and building alarm systems.

Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in physical security.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years working in a team environment.
  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to drive company vehicles (vans, trucks, cars).
  • Must be bondable

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Associates degree
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience working in a credit union or financial services industry.
