Job Summary
This Retail Intern will support branch operations on multiple campuses. The intern will work closely with our Student Orientation team to identify, analyze, and implement process improvements that enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of each orientation session. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in process improvement while making a meaningful impact on the student experience.
The 10-week internship program begins June 2, 2025 through August 8, 2025.

Essential Functions
Review Production Goals:
- Analyze weekly and monthly production goals related to new member engagement and account openings.
- Monitor progress and identify gaps or inefficiencies.
Track Orientation Engagement:
- Identify the number of new orientees reached through UFCU engagement efforts each week.
- Develop a system to monitor and improve the success of student outreach during orientations.
Develop and Implement a Follow-Up Process:
- Create a structured follow-up process for new members post-orientation.
- Adjust and refine the process based on feedback and performance data.
- Track response rates and engagement levels.
Generate and Manage Surveys:
- Design and distribute surveys to capture member feedback on the onboarding and orientation experience.
- Track survey completion rates and analyze feedback for process improvement.
Collaborate with Management:
- Work closely with the branch manager to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build trust within the team to gain buy-in for process improvements.
Account Tracking and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of member engagement, follow-up success, and account openings.
- Submit a detailed end-of-week report summarizing challenges, changes made, successes, and support needed.
- Propose actionable improvements for the upcoming week.
Lead Generation and Member Journey:
- Develop strategies to improve lead generation during student orientations and campus events.
- Optimize the new member journey from engagement at orientation through account opening and follow-up.
- Identify touchpoints to ensure a seamless experience, including receiving Bobcat Debit Cards and accessing financial resources
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Collaborate with the Student Orientation team to understand current processes, workflows, and challenges.
- Conduct data analysis and process mapping to identify areas for improvement in staffing and operational efficiencies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives, including creating and updating process documentation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvements, making recommendations for further enhancements.
- Support the planning and coordination of orientation events, ensuring that staffing and logistical arrangements are optimized.
- Gather and analyze feedback from students, staff, and other stakeholders to inform continuous improvement efforts.

Experience
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student with accredited college or universities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
