As a DevOps Intern, you will have the opportunity to increase your technical knowledge and numerous opportunities to interact with all parts of the organization, including presenting to senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with intern group to solve business problem and present solutions to executive leadership.
- Gain exposure to UFG’s leadership team through various networking events, including participation in the Build Your Network Program.
- Participate in a variety of development and social activities with interns from other business units.
- Assist DevOps teams with project work and documentation.
- Develop understanding of the basic functions in a property and casualty insurance company.
- Learn and apply corporate standards, methodologies, compliance and testing practices.
- Actively participate in a cross-functional team and contribute to meetings.
Qualifications:
- Current student pursuing a degree in computer science, programming, or related field and has knowledge of at least three areas:
- Scripting languages (PowerShell/Python/etc.…)
- Windows and Linux (RedHat/CentOS/etc.…) Operating Systems
- Process Automation Best Practices
- Information Security Best Practices
- Database Technologies
- Microsoft Application Administration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Motivated self-starter
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Creative and resourceful
- Possess ability to communicate clearly with project team.
