Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment and controls, including plumbing and electrical systems.
- Install HVAC-related equipment such as ductwork, refrigeration piping, air conditioning units, and exhaust equipment.
- Operate, maintain, and log all HVAC and MEP equipment, responding promptly to tenant service requests and emergency situations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain detailed logs of all work performed.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for safety and compliance, reporting issues to management and assisting in improvement efforts.
- Assist in inventory management and maintain positive tenant relationships through courteous communication.
- Perform minor repairs and other related duties, including snow removal and emergency repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company policies while practicing safe work habits.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a maintenance technician in a commercial/industrial/higher education facility.
- Familiarity with HVAC and electrical codes.
- Ability to plan and organize work.
- Proficiency in brazing, soldering, and welding.
- HVAC License a plus.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude with large tonnage HVAC equipment.
- Must be able to change refrigeration compressors, service cooling towers, rebuild or replace large centrifugal pumps, service & repair VAV boxes, troubleshoot and repair energy management controls and programming.
- Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
