The Head Performance Chef for Olympic Sports Nutrition supports the Director of Culinary Operations by implementing the nutrition program. This role involves understanding athlete fueling needs and the ability to customize meals for body composition goals, allergies, and preferences. Responsibilities include managing Bite inventory, overseeing food product shipping, receiving, and tracking, and assisting with menu development and execution for on-site and pre-game meals. The chef will also lead cooking demonstrations for football athletes, requiring knowledge of culinary terms, knife skills, and basic cooking techniques. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the management of catering event staff for daily team tasks and overseeing the morning and evening grab-n-go menus, including distribution and quality control.

- Knowledge of Health and Food Safety Codes for food preparation, storage, and serving.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with athletes, staff, and coaches.
- Previous experience developing menus and working with different caterers.
- Redesigning or developing educational handouts.
- Menu modification and development.
- Meal planning to meet athletes’ goals.
- Live meal coaching
- Lift, move, push, and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
- Withstand outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
- Moving around campus, which includes the gym, turf, fields, etc.
- Travel for job related tasks
- Work flexible hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays

- Serve as head chef in football facility – includes pre- and post-fueling for practice, lifts, and games
- Aware of athletes’ training and physical demands to create menus to meet athletes’ nutritional needs
- Ensure food safety for all menus, including but not limited to food allergies, expiration dates, temperature control, etc.
- Teach football athletes culinary skills to ensure proper education of basic cooking
- Manage football kitchen to ensure proper food products are available for football athletes
- Help with product ordering, inventory, tracking, and monitoring expiration dates
- Supervise all kitchen staff, including full-time chefs and interns.
- Aware and maintain football food budget
- Work with team training table staff to create menus that meet the needs of football athletes
- Recipe development to meet athletes taste preferences
- Work with various caterers to provide menus that ensure proper quality & taste
- Work with team hotels on the road to execute all travel menus & pregame meals
- Expand menu variety to enhance athlete satisfaction.
