Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on high standards of hygiene and presentation.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, and waxing to maintain the appearance of surfaces.
- Carry out commercial cleaning duties in offices, restrooms, and common areas to ensure cleanliness.
- Assist with facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are stored properly.
- Provide porter services as needed, including moving furniture or equipment within the facility.
- Follow safety procedures while using cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in special cleaning projects as assigned, including industrial cleaning tasks.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation.
- Experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices is a plus.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and facility occupants.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
