Job Summary
CREDIT & COLLECTIONS TECHNICIAN – CORPORATE OFFICE (CHARLESTON, WV)
We are currently recruiting in our Corporate office, Charleston, WV, for a Credit & Collections Technician.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cash posting activities, research and resolve payment exceptions, and void returned payments.
- Handle inquiries received by mail or telephone that may require research regarding payments, the associated bank, and payment records.
- Research customer account information and complete payment research, issue refunds as appropriate, and/or transfer balances between customer accounts.
- Track customer write off data and work with outside collection agencies to process adjustments as necessary.
- Process daily collection jobs and track customer accounts through the collection process.
- Ability to perform yearly development testing and identify issues that prevent implementation of system updates.
- Prepares periodic reports utilizing formulas to track and analyze data.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years related experience.
- Proficient in both Word and Excel programs.
- The ability to work in a team environment and to successfully work with customers.
- Good verbal and written skills along with data entry accuracy and the ability to analyze information.
Preferences:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous collections, utility, or regulatory work experience.
