Job Summary
This position will focus on special projects, process improvements, and the backfill of other Accounting roles/responsibilities during periods of transition. The ideal candidate will have a diverse accounting background, pick up new responsibilities quickly, and enjoy designing and implementing new processes. This position will have exposure to Fixed Asset Accounting, General Accounting, Regulatory Accounting, as well as Revenue & Supply Accounting on a rotational basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the month end close process including account reconciliations, financial analysis and controls.
- Backfill of other Accounting roles/responsibilities during periods of transition.
- Lead special projects and process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) & Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Requirements.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to quickly learn, solve problems, and improve processes independently.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with individuals at various different levels and with various different backgrounds throughout the organization.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related degree preferred.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience.
- CPA preferred.
- Public Accounting experience preferred.
