Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Generalist to join Ugly Dumpling. As the HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the corporate functions of the organization, including, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating a positive workplace culture and ensuring operational excellence across our locations. This role offers the opportunity to develop and grow within the HR function, with potential to take on broader responsibilities and contribute to the evolution of our HR department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build effective and positive relationships with personnel at all levels.
- Lead the onboarding process by managing new hire paperwork and conducting orientation.
- Lead and coordinate administrative communications for arrivals, departures, office transfers and other personnel changes.
- Lead and coordinate departure process for staff employees, including conducting exit interviews.
- Support recruiting efforts and recruiting team, including greeting and hosting candidates as well as periodic participation in interview processes.
- Handle routine employee relations issues.
- Assist with company people lifecycle including Employee Engagement, Employee Relations, Onboarding, Performance Management & Development, HR Reporting and Administration
- Assist with annual performance review process and mid-year succession planning
- Administer and execute HR programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, training and development, and work arrangements.
- Recommend new approaches and procedures to continually improve team and organization efficiency.
- Understand, adhere to, and implement company policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new HR technologies, talent management, and employment law.
- Coordinate employee engagement, host engagement events, conduct employee surveys, and maintain candidate feedback.
- Provide general support for, and participation in, various HR initiatives and/or committees.
- Act as the primary contact for all HR administrative aspects across all organizational levels
- Performs other ad hoc duties, as assigned by the Senior Human Resources Director
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of HR generalist experience, preferably within the hospitality or food
- service industry.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and be adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
