PSI Water Technologies, Inc. Under the direction of the Strategic Purchasing Manager, the Buyer/Planner will perform various purchasing/planning and administrative tasks. The tasks will involve supporting functions for the Manufacturing and Finance departments. This position is based at the Company’s Milpitas, CA facility.

Planning
Under the direction of the Strategic Purchasing Manager, the Buyer/Planner will perform various purchasing/planning and administrative tasks. The tasks will involve supporting functions for the Manufacturing and Finance departments. This position is based at the Company’s Milpitas, CA facility.
Essential Job Functions
Planning
- Assist with organizing inventory;
- Evaluate and recommend solutions to inventory issues;
- Maintain database fields that control the timing and quantity of inventory on the basis of demand and forecasts;
- Coordinate the procurement of raw materials;
- Maintain inventory accuracy;
- Dispose inventory when it becomes obsolete due to product life cycle or engineering changes;
- Exercise discretion and independent judgement in day-to-day job duties;
- Record transaction entries in system to maintain inventory records.
Purchasing
- Analyze material demand, identify shortages, and expedite orders;
- Buy and manage raw material requirements.
- Assist Manufacturing with manufacturing, purchase and sales orders and shipment activities;
- Provide order lead time guidance to Customer Service and Project Management as required;
- Setup new item numbers;
- Exercise discretion and independent judgement in day-to-day job duties;
- Assist Finance with resolving invoicing discrepancies and initial vendor set-ups;
- Lead & implement strategic sourcing initiatives as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Administrative experience in a professional setting;
- Prior planning/purchasing experience;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfortable speaking on the telephone;
- Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision;
- Data entry experience;
- Familiarity with ERP systems in general
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word; and
- Ability to multi-task and support multiple departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains ERP system.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for long periods of time;
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus; and
- Ability to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.
Work Environment
- Approximately 80% Office Setting; and
- Approximately 20% Light Industrial – May be exposed to areas of high noise levels and industrial facilities.
- Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

This is a non-exempt position. Compensation is dependent on skill level. The hourly base salary for this position is between $30 and $40. Benefits package and incentives are provided. We generally offer employees working 21 hours per work or more medical, dental, vision, along with voluntary ancillary benefits. The Company has a 401(k)-match program and has company-paid life and AD&D insurance available for eligible employees.
