Job Description :
- Administer medicated aerosol therapy (e.g., small volume nebulizers, DPI, MDI, and vibrating mesh nebulizers).
- Educate patients on aerosol therapies and medication administration.
- Perform airway clearance therapy including clapping, vibration, directed cough, and more.
- Conduct airway management involving suctioning, tracheostomy care, manual ventilation, and intubation assistance.
- Provide assisted ventilation (e.g., mechanical ventilation, CPAP / BiPAP, NIMV), including system checks and management.
- Manage high-risk deliveries including surfactant administration and adherence to NRP protocol.
- Sample and analyze blood gases, interpreting results for clinical decision-making.
- Deliver humidity therapy with various apparatus such as aerosol masks and trach collars.
- Follow clinical practice guidelines for conditions like asthma, cystic fibrosis, and acute chest syndrome.
- Monitor patient status using pulse oximetry, capnography, and ventilator graphic interpretation.
- Participate in patient transport involving HFNC portable units and assisted ventilation devices.
- Execute oxygen and special gas therapies, ensuring equipment calibration and troubleshooting.
- Clean and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Work collaboration includes interfacing with medical staff, including attending physicians, fellows, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff in Intensive Care Units and general respiratory care settings.
