Key Responsibilities
As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you’ll play a critical role in patient care by:
- Preparing Medications: Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients.
- Verifying Prescriptions: Receive and verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness.
- Pricing & Filling: Assist with pricing and filling prescriptions, ensuring timely delivery.
- Insurance Support: Support pharmacists in processing online insurance claims.
- Inventory Management: Stock, price, and ensure the availability of medications.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain infection-control procedures and adhere to all safety policies.
- Patient Deliveries: Ensure timely delivery of medications to patients or facilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a hospital setting – Required
- Certification: National Pharmacy Tech Certification – Required
- Licensure: Michigan Pharmacy Technician License at the time of submission – Required
- System Knowledge: Epic experience – Required
- COVID Vaccination: Mandatory (No exemptions allowed)
- BLS Certification: Preferred
