Key Responsibilities:
- Surgical Prep: Set up sterile fields and ensure all instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready for procedures.
- Assist During Surgery: Hand instruments to surgeons, anticipate their needs, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Maintain Sterility: Monitor and enforce strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Post-Operative Duties: Help with cleaning and preparing the OR for the next procedure.
- Equipment Handling: Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment to keep procedures running without a hitch.
- Patient Advocacy: Work closely with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort at all stages of care.
- Documentation: Accurately record procedure details, instrument counts, and any incidents during surgery.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Current Surgical Tech certification (CST) or equivalent licensure in Washington State.
- Experience: Previous experience in an operating room setting is preferred but not required—we love a quick learner!
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support is a must (but capes are optional).
- Attention to Detail: Precision is your superpower in the OR.
- Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with surgeons, nurses, and other techs.
