Job Title: Project Engineer
Position Overview
As a Project Engineer you will be our point of contact to clients and will execute design, programming, commissioning, technical support and project management services for building automation control projects. If you want to work on some of the most challenging and interesting commercial control projects the industry has to offer, this is the position for you! In this position you will:
- Direct the project preplanning process, accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects, develop schedules, anticipate and adjust for problems and roadblocks and collaborate with project team to proactively resolve problems. You will set objectives and goals with specific measures.
- Proactively monitor costs and react to variations quickly; monitor labor reporting system to effectively control productivity; schedule subcontractors; escalate problems to management.
- Evaluate scope changes, additional work orders and the clients needs.
- Coordinate work with other trades, perform start-ups and commissioning as needed.
- Determine equipment and materials required for customers system performance and proactively identify problems.
- Provide technical guidance to diagnose control system concerns and ensure occupancy comfort.
- Troubleshoot local controllers, communication wiring, programs and schedules to identify concerns and determine corrective actions.
- Ensure proper measurement and verification (M&V) equipment functionality including accurate data recording and storage.
- Must pass background check.
- Bachelor's degree, associates degree or similar experience.
- Knowledge of industry is preferred but not required.
- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Advanced written, verbal, customer service and relationship building skills.
- Must have strong organizational skills with an understanding of operational concepts including planning, scheduling and logistics.
- Flexible, willingness to adapt to change and to multi-task under pressure of multiple projects.
- Ability to work well with others both internally and externally in stressful situations.
- Should operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in standard office computer programs such as MS Office 365.
- Must be customer service oriented and possess advanced customer service skills.
- Must be able to work well with others in a fast paced, high volume environment.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment.
