Position Overview Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000. The Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. #IND2 Primary Department or Work Location: Operating Room, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Primary Work Shift: Rotational Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $38.77 - $55.00 per hour, depending on experience ----- License/Certification Minimum Required: Current NYS RN License BLS, ACLS, PALS certified 2 years of experience working in the perioperative setting (pre-operative department, post-anesthesia care unit, operating room, interventional radiology, etc.) Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty Previous scrub nurse experience Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) Certification Impeccable organization, time management, and critical-thinking skills Education/Experience Minimum Required: A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting Primary responsibilities: assisting surgeons during operations and maintaining a sterile environment prepare the instruments, supplies and the OR for surgical procedures effective communication with all members of the surgical team anticipate the surgeon's needs and react quickly to changes during surgery Work Environment: 40 hour work week 10 hour work days On-call shifts to provide 24/7 coverage, including weekends and holidays ----- Why You’ll Love Working at UHS At United Health Services (UHS), we believe every connection—to patients, to purpose, to each other—makes a difference.
