Security Officer

Security Officer, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Shift Day Rotational Hours per week: 36 Salary range: $15.61 - $23.45 per hour, depending on experience. Overview The Security Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe healthcare environment. Not only is customer service a part of their job description, as they are the first to greet visitors who come into the facilities but so is handling confrontations and providing issue management and support. The variety of security and safety related tasks encompass the safeguarding of employees, patients, visitors, providers and property, and they include responding to alarms, emergency requests, de-escalation tactics, and resolving safety incidents. At times, it will be expected that Security Officers manage agitated or aggressive patients or visitors. Education/Experience Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. OR Will accept 3 years of Security Officer experience in lieu of education requirement Preferred: One year experience in a Security related field. License/Certification Minimum Required: Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record if candidate will be driving a vehicle while working, or if not, must have a valid NYS ID Card Must meet requirements of New York State Security Guard Licensing program and successfully pass within 3 months of hire.
