Position Overview The Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within healthcare facilities. As the first point of contact for many patients, visitors, and staff, Security Officers are expected to deliver high-quality customer service while upholding safety and security standards. Their responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, responding to alarms and emergency calls, managing confrontations, and providing incident support and resolution. Security Officers are tasked with protecting employees, patients, visitors, healthcare providers, and property. This involves conducting patrols, monitoring facility access, utilizing de-escalation techniques, and intervening in situations involving agitated or aggressive individuals. Officers must be prepared to handle a wide range of safety-related situations with professionalism, empathy, and composure. Work shifts are 12 hours. Day/Evening 8am - 8pm, or Nights 8pm - 8am. Primary Department or Work Location: Security Services, UHS Wilson Medical Center Primary Work Shift: Rotational Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $21.31 - $30.90 per hour, depending on experience ----- Education/Experience Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. OR Will accept 3 years of Security Officer experience in lieu of education requirement Preferred: One year experience in a Security related field.
