Coastal Harbor Health System is comprised of a 145-bed hospital for children and adolescents, providing both short- and long-term inpatient care, and a 50-bed inpatient hospital serving men and women, ages 18 and up. The Admissions Clinician will support the purpose and procedures of the entire intake and admission process.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform psychosocial screening and evaluations of all patients, voluntary and involuntary, who present to the facility with a primary psychiatric or behavioral complaint.
- Provide accurate evaluation of medical necessity, offering alternative levels of care when feasible
- Initiate a collection and assessment of information for payers; complete pre-certification
- Triage and follow up telephone inquiries

Qualifications
Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited school in the Behavioral Sciences or related field required
- Must have experience of 2 years; Experience in inpatient setting preferred
- Two years in Intake/Triage/Admissions preferred
- Computer proficient with previous heavy data entry experience
