POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) collaborates with and provides a second level of leadership for the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to ensure the monitoring and assessment of facility-wide patient nursing care for adults (ages 18 ), adolescents (ages 13-18) and children (ages 5-12) and to ensure that clinical nursing practice is based on established procedures and ensures the highest possible quality of patient care. The ACNO acts as the hospital’s senior Nursing official in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer. This individual will also support the Infection Control Nurse who is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Infection Control Program. In addition, this individual is also responsible for assisting with nursing staff education and training and collaborating and supporting the treatment team.
Typical Work Hours:
Primary Day Shift - Other Shifts As Needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN Required. MSN Preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Three years’ experience in psychiatric nursing required. Three years administrative/supervisory experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Current Texas State Registered Nurse License
- Certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing within 1yr of hire date through ANCC (preferred)
- Current CPR
- Current CPI
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and training in appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint within 30 days of employment. Successful completion of CPI training and Service Excellence Training within 90 days of employment. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
