Responsibilities

San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas!  San Marcos spreads across 65-acres with an abundance of trees and wildlife.  We have 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development levels with two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, sports court, playing fields, ropes course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning. 

 

The purpose of the Direcor of Admissions is to supervise, plan, coordinate, and lead all activities that enhance the effectiveness of the Admissions Department and its personnel, including, but not limited to, the assessment, coordination and care management of patient referrals and referral sources to and ensure a timely and efficient admissions process for incoming patients, their families and the San Marcos Treatment Center team.  This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads and administration, treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations, functions as a liaison with other hospital intake departments.  This position is part of a team tasked to lead and take ownership for every aspect of fiscal operation and service delivery.

Qualifications

Education:   Master's Degree in social work, psychology, mental health, or related field required.

 

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable.

 

Licensure/Certification:  Valid Driver's License and R.N., L.C.S.W., L.M.S.W., LPC or applicable license

 

Skills & Knowledge:    Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
