What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIR - UTILIZATION REVIEW / MGMT position at UHS?
Responsible for the overall operation of the Case Management Department. Establishes policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for department operations. Evaluates performance and maintains quality improvement. Coordinates with other departments to provide maximum level of services. Supervises all department staff. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational and safety related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his / her assigned service area. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training and / or experience.

Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of three years clinical experience in a hospital setting. Prefer Utilization Review / Discharge Planning background.
Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.: Must have Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
Special Skills, Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Bilingual preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Ability to work with multidisciplinary staff. Demonstrate a high level of medical, clinical, and nursing competence with the ability to make appropriate judgment. Working knowledge of current Medicaid / Medicare guidelines. Knowledge of TMF/ TDHS criteria for medical treatment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
