The Director of Utilization Management coordinates and directs all Utilization Review functions, monitoring the utilization and continuum of services to optimize reimbursement, as well as supervises the reception of requests for information from medical records of patients and assures that authorizations are properly executed.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Establish and implement administrative policies and procedures; oversee compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations and standards, including concurrent review of Medicaid inpatients
• Perform the utilization and review process in an appropriate and timely manner; maintain appropriate records of the process for the purpose of preparing and submitting appeals to third party payors; conduct routine chart audits and distribute results to pertinent individuals for appropriate action
• Employ and train qualified personnel to support the department and management function requirements; establish lines of authority and accountability and provide appropriate supervision of personnel

Requirements:

• Degree in nursing, psychology, or other related field.
• Master’s degree required
• One to two years related experience or training preferred
• Management experience with a demonstrated leadership ability and skills to write reports required
