Millwood Hospital is located in Arlington, TX in the heart of the city.  It is 5 minutes away from AT&T Stadium home of the Dallas Cowboys. Position Summary:

 

The Infection Control Nurse / Employee Health & Nurse Educator position is responsible for coordinating all activities of the facility’s infection control program and prevention related activities, by assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance, infection control reporting, and provision of infection control technical support and education for the facility staff.  This individual will also be responsible for all functions of the employee health program and for providing clinical employee health services at the facility. The IC Nurse also functions as the Nursing Educator and is responsible for assisting the CNO/DON in evaluating; reviewing, designing and implementing hospital training events with respect to all RN/LVN/MHT staff required training.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EducationGraduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 

Experience:  A minimum of three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a psychiatric health-care facility. Must have at least one (1) year direct infection control experience.

Licensure:  Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.

Certification:  APIC (Certification in Infection Control) or TSICP (Texas Society of Infection Control Practitioners) is preferred or APIC Training/membership will be required within the first 90 days of employment.

Other Requirements:   Strong understanding of all related Joint Commission and CDC standards as relates to Infection Control; Ability to educate and train staff on infection control procedures/processes and all related standards.
