SR ACCOUNTANT

Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Position Summary: 

Responsible for maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, and developing facility specific policies and procedures consistent with Corporate P&Ps. Manage outsourced functions, oversight and responsibility for the operations of the Finance Department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives. Responsible for maintaining an orderly file system, and maintaining a system of controls over accounting transactions (including upholding internal controls). Responsible for maintaining a general ledger accounts and financial reports, maintaining chart of accounts, preparing timely submission of various reports to Department Managers and Senior Management. Process bi-weekly payroll. Assists in the month end financial close process including creating and posting journal entries and reconciling various accounts. Assist in the Budget Process with Chief Financial Officer, participate in Financial Audits, and responsible for other duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer.

Education:  

Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of four years demonstrated successful experience in accounting including payroll, accounts payables, general ledger and financial reporting.

Licensure/Certification:  None required.

Skills:    

Employee must have excellent verbal and written skills.  Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient, facility and financial information.  Capacity to understand and demonstrate appropriate boundaries between self, staff and patients.
