Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 2014 and provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Suncoast Behavioral Health Center offers a unique treatment programs across inpatient and residential programs for children and adolescents.

 

In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.

 

The Hospital is looking for a Staff Development Coordinator. In this position you will be responsible to facilitate learning using a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to content, setting, adult learner needs, and desired learner outcomes. The Staff Development Coordinator works closely with HRD in assisting with the management of the online learning environment, teaching CPR, Verbal De-scalation, Handle with Care, and maintains accurate staff education files.  The Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for the preceptor and Clinical Ladder programs and ensuring that all trainers at the facility have the required skills for training. The Staff Development Coordinator will also be involved as a champion of the Trauma Informed Care Committee and have positive involvement in any Employee Engagement led activity. Active involvement in the orientation and check-in/refresher process through the use of scheduled educational classes. Provision of re-training as needed/requested by department directors.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in psychology or related field preferred.
  • At least three to five years of staff education experience.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Physical Demands - Extensive walking, standing, sitting, must be able to lift over fifty (25 lbs.) pounds. Must be to participate in the physical restraint and seclusion of patients. Must be able to participate in and complete Handle with Care Training.
