Summary
The Phlebotomy supervisor is responsible for the training and orientation of phlebotomy staff. This individual will coordinate the duties for staff phlebotomists, evaluate workload and schedule phlebotomists appropriately. Also, acting as liaison to the laboratory manager and director. May obtain blood specimens from patients as needed. Individuals must follow laboratory policy on proper identification of patients and handling of obtained specimen
Qualifications
Education/Qualification
● Associate degree in a Medical Field or BS degree strongly preferred
● MLT certification or equivalent is preferred
● Phlebotomy technical degree is a plus
● Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency preferred
● Two years of laboratory experience including blood drawing and processing
● Two years of supervisory experience preferred
