What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tech EEG EKG Non-Cert position at UHS?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs electroencephalography by attaching electrodes to the head and operating the equipment. Performs electrocardiograms/Holter Monitors by attaching electrodes to the chest and operating the equipment. Assists with developing, utilizing and coordinating EEG/ECG Holter policies and procedures. Will be occasions when it will be necessary to work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on-call/call-back status. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft office products or comparable product.
2. Must have GED or High School diploma. Prefer previous college coursework in healthcare related field.
3. Preferential to have previous exposure to EEG and EKG.
4. Also preferential to have EEG and/or EKG certification.
5. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
1. High School diploma, GED or Higher Education required.
2. New hires as of March 17, 2017 must successfully complete in-house course for EKG certification within six months of hire, and update with renewed competency no less than every two years.
3. Prefer EEG certification.
4. Will be trained at STHS facility under direct supervision.
