Interim Controller

We are partnered with a client in Stamford, Connecticut seeking an interim Controller for a four to five-month engagement. The company is going through a transition and is seeking a strong interim Controller who has experience supporting and leading teams. The Interim Controller will ensure the accounting department stays on track, completes all its duties, and meets all requirements set forth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee global accounting operations: General Ledger, Tax, Audit, AP, AR, Capital Expenses, Fixed Assets.
• Manage monthly closings, consolidations, and financial reporting.
• Maintain monthly closing calendar and ensure timely deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Lead internal and external accounting resources, including Shared Services.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, processes, and policies.
• Analyze cash flow and implement cost and expense controls.
• Prepare and review financial reports, including variance analysis.
• Collaborate with FP&A for comprehensive financial reporting packages.
• Support CFO and executive team with corporate materials and decision-making.
• Manage local, federal, and foreign tax compliance.
• Oversee quarterly and year-end tax provisions and transfer pricing.
• Lead year-end audits and manage external auditor relationships.
• Conduct Asset-Based Lender audits and ensure compliance with credit agreements.
• Drive organizational improvements and automation strategies.
• Champion continuous improvement and set departmental goals.
• Develop global treasury and foreign exchange hedging strategies.
• Enhance AR and AP processes with KPI focus.

Required Experience, Education, and Credentials:

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, CPA preferred not required
• Previous controller experience specifically having led teams through related M&A events
• Strong leadership experience managing and overseeing the record to report process
• 15 years of accounting experience, particularly with growing mid-sized companies
• Expert Excel skills: VLOOKUP, Macros, VBA Etc.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

-Resource Solutions Consultants are paid for every hour worked and time and a half for overtime, unlike traditional employment where professionals at this level are exempt from earning overtime pay.
