What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at UHY-US?
A great UHY client is seeking an Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience working for a smaller organization, wearing multiple hats, AP/AR experience with exposure to the GL, and bank reconciliations experience.
The Accountant role is an onsite position. There may be some weekend work involved, but it is flexible. This is a client direct hire position.
Accountant Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures all A/P disbursements are accurate and properly authorized, must also be recorded accurately concerning general ledger account and cost center coding.
- Maintains vendor contract files, vendor W-9s, and approved vendor lists.
- Records cash receipts and reports accounts receivable status timely and accurately.
- Maintains custodial bank account registers and prepares bank account reconciliations timely and accurately. Resolves any discrepancies identified.
- Maintains information on various diversity websites for the company.
- Researches financial information requests from the Controller and others.
- Assist with various accounting functions as assigned and provide backup assistance as necessary for other accounting functions.
Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college with a major in Accounting.
- 5-10 years of experience as an Accounting Analyst, or related position.
- Experience with automated general ledger software and report-writing tools.
- Solid understanding of Accounting practices, procedures, and internal controls.
- Solid analytical skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
