A great UHY client is seeking a Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have healthcare experience with strong management skills. They will need to be patient and get along with other people. The accounting team includes the Controller, A/P and payroll personnel.
The Controller position is onsite in Dearborn, MI. This a direct client hire position.
Controller Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Develop and manage the company's budgeting process, including annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity needs, manage banking relationships, and optimize cash resources. Implement cash management strategies to maximize returns and minimize risk.
- Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluations to assess the company's financial health and identify opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including preparation of tax returns and coordination with external tax advisors. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Controller Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Previous Healthcare Experience preferred
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Experience with Quick Books preferred
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior management, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
