Position Summary
Under the general supervision of a Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician prepares sterile products in alignment with aseptic technique principles and prescriber orders. This role ensures compliance with company policies and procedures while performing tasks related to maintaining an efficient and organized pharmacy operation.
Position Responsibilities
- Performs activities associated with inventory maintenance.
- Completes quality assurance activities and quality control records for documentation of appropriate sterile compounding processes.
- Maintains cleanliness of MIC and other equipment and the pharmacy in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Generates and / or maintains appropriate records related to medication distribution and dispensing and disposal.
- Utilizes various equipment including Baxa pump, label printers, laser report printers, and computer keyboards / terminals.
- Utilizes aseptic technique in MIC, biological safety cabinet to prepare sterile products, including cytotoxic drugs, in single doses.
- Utilizes automated compounding equipment to compound total parenteral nutrition solutions.
- Communicates with other health care personnel.
- Assists pharmacists with the orientation and on-the-job training of all new technicians and pharmacists.
- Maintains area orderliness and cleanliness.
- Administrative technician duties as assigned by the Pharmacist in Charge.

Expected Work Hours and Location
Generally, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm with occasional nights and weekends. Days and hours are subject to change with notice.
