Serve as customer service assistant for the Department of Diagnostic Services. Caters to and services the ever-growing Spanish speaking community at UI Health. The overall function is to provide, monitor and assure high quality service to our patients.

Position Summary
Serve as customer service assistant for the Department of Diagnostic Services. Caters to and services the ever-growing Spanish speaking community at UI Health. The overall function is to provide, monitor and assure high quality service to our patients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Registers and processes imaging orders utilizing Epic.
- Greets inpatients/visitors and ascertains their needs regarding their diagnostic service
- Retrieves and process requests.
- Schedules patients for imaging examinations via phone and in person utilizing specific imaging protocols and instructions. Coordinates appointments with clinics.
- Ascertains that patients receive appropriate instructions either verbal or written for the specific examination.
- Confers with other sections and/or departments to attain quality and timely service for patients and physicians.
- Utilize phone etiquette when answering all incoming/out-going calls regarding patient service.
- Responds to routine inquiries from clients in order to provide or clarify information on departmental services, policies and procedures.
- Resolves customer complaints and refers unresolved customer grievances to designated personnel for further investigation
- Assists Spanish speaking patients and visitors by completing all necessary customer service duties in Spanish.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or combination totaling eighteen (18) months from the following categories:
- college coursework in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- responsible work experience in customer services, public relations, office administration, business and financial operations, healthcare administration or other closely related experience
- Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in both English and Spanish.
