Overview
EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (MIELS):
Bowhead seeks an Equipment Specialist to support the Marine Corps Information Technology, Engineering and Logistics effort located in Albany, GA. The Marine Corps Engineering Support contract is tasked with support within the areas of: program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes, organizes, plans and administers various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities for one or more highly complex programs.
- Analyzes complex contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements.
- Develops logistics plans in order to enhance distribution.
- Identifies, prioritizes, and assesses key logistic assets and infrastructures.
- Develops policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
- Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory and analyzes requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times.
- Responsible for solving highly technical and complex problems for several projects.
- Develops and improves processes and direction for projects.
- Considered as a resource for resolution of unique or complex problems.
- May provide work leadership for lower level employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field. Four (4 ) additional years combination of education, professional training, or relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Three (3 ) years of relevant logistics experience; progress towards DAWIA LCL Foundational Qualified. 1-2 DAWIA LCL Credentials.
- Five (5 ) years direct knowledge acquisition logistics experience.
- Two (2 ) years' experience supporting acquisition flow and USMC equipment birthing process creating associated documentation and approvals required for fielding.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
