Overview
SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER (AT):
Bowhead seeks a Senior Systems Engineer who will work as part of a multi-disciplined team generating solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) and other government customers. The team's focus is on designing, analyzing, producing, testing, and delivering innovative prototypes.
Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, executing, and tracking the engineering development and qualification efforts of weapons systems. Must maintain awareness of program status against system requirements. Must communicate with stakeholders, senior executives, and the technical execution team.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- System qualification test planning and coordination
- Briefings to safety and engineering oversight boards
- Providing written and oral program status reports
- Risk management
- Technology readiness assessments
- Milestone and Engineering review meeting coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college.
- 5 years of experience with DoD weapon system acquisition in a systems engineering-focused environment.
- Knowledge of energetic system test and evaluation
- Understanding of explosive train technology and functionality
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of program personnel and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Awareness of national energetic T&E range capabilities
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
