Position Summary
The Director for Faculty Engagement provides oversight and guidance for interprofessional education (IPE) initiatives and leads a committee in establishing an IPE faculty community for the Center for the Advancement of Interprofessional Practices, Education, and Research (CAIPPER).
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive plan with needs assessment for faculty development in interprofessional education that addresses learning in all settings (e.g. classroom (in person and virtual), clinic, and community) and for all levels or learners (pre-qualification, residency and fellowship, and continuing professional development).
Lead an appointed workgroup to create a model, set of standards, and procedures for an interprofessional practice and education (IPE) faculty community; review applications for community membership; and create the procedures for how faculty are appointed and reappointed within the system.
Work in collaboration with the health sciences colleges, the UI Hospital and clinics, and other academic and administrative units at UIC to ensure that faculty are aware of opportunities for IPE faculty development to build an IPE faculty community as determined by the workgroup’s model that ensures a robust supply of faculty who can provide excellent IPE.
Evaluate the structure, processes, and outcomes of IPE faculty development and the function of the Center for the Advancement of Interprofessional Practices, Education, and Research (CAIPPER) IPE faculty program community in relationship to the achievement of CAIPPER goals.
Contribute to the development and evaluation of CAIPPER initiatives as a member of the CAIPPER leadership team by contributing data on faculty IPE program outputs and ensuring that IPE faculty perspectives are fully integrated into decision making. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
