Position Summary
The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford (UICOMR) and the UI Health Mile Square Health Center – L.P. Johnson Rockford are pleased to announce a joint full-time position for a Family Medicine Physician. This role encompasses both clinical responsibilities at the health center and faculty duties within UICOMR, providing a unique opportunity to blend patient care with teaching, mentoring, and scholarly activity.
Duties & Responsibilities
Examine patient and obtain medical history from patient, parents, guardians to prepare patient profile. Review developmental and medical history of patient.
Participate in diagnostic staffing to correlate findings, determine diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment recommendations.
Discuss findings and recommendations with client, parents, agencies, etc. as needed.
Responsible for medication management (includes but is not limited to writing prescriptions, monitoring efficacy, monitoring adverse reactions).
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Faculty supervision of the clinical
care provided by family medicine residents in both the inpatient and
outpatient setting. Direct clinic patient care
and management of a personal panel of patients. Presentation of didactics to
support residency curriculum. Advising and mentoring of
residents. Participation in resident
and faculty recruitment activities. Precepting medical students
on their family medicine clerkship in both the inpatient and outpatient
setting. Participation in various committees
related to the mission of the College of Medicine
